Taking chances....

I grew sunflowers this summer, the smaller solar eclipse variety . I knew I would paint finally get a chance to paint a sunflower. However, as much as I tried to find an interesting way to paint the front face, I was drawn to the intricate layers of the stem as it unfolded allowing the petals to bloom. I saw so many captivating patterns and shapes that I wanted to paint. So my next sunflower painting will probably show the traditional front face but this painting shows the unconventional back side. What do you think, interesting or odd?
